Our nice and easy ride starts in the center of Castiglione della Pescaia. Just some hundred meters after we are going to ride on calm country roads that will lead us into the typical landscape of the Maremma with its olive groves, sunflower fields and vineyards. On a flat itinerary we arrive at our destination: the Antinori winery of Le Mortelle. After a short tour inside the estate surrounded by vineyards and fruit-bearers we can have a break at the wonderful terrace of the estate sitting under mulberry trees and tasting a glass of wine and the organic fruit produced by the estate.

The “Le Mortelle”  farm is located in Maremma, near Castiglione della Pescaia. It was part of a larger complex called La Badiola, already identified on the geographical maps by Leopoldo Il in the mid-1800s.
Mortella is the name of the wild myrtle that characterizes these coastal areas and is the symbol of the farm: its name derives from this fragrant Mediterranean shrub.
